Dell laptops are a very popular computer they are widely known for quality and good pricing. Toshiba has long been known and respected as a maker of fine quality laptops. Acer laptops have more recently become available and have captured a good piece of the market with their very well priced machines.

All three manufacturers have good selection of models in all price ranges and sizes. Toshiba laptops have always been known for quality and top features. Their price is on average higher than Dell or Acer but the quality is undoubtedly there.

Dell in the last few years has become the biggest laptop computer manufacturer based on sales volume. They have a range of stylish machines which are sought after by many buyers. They even have introduced colored cases which are very attractive.

Acer came on the North American market much later than Dell but have quickly become knowns as suppliers of good, low priced, laptops which many budget minded consumers have found to suit their needs admirably.

Toshiba and Acer laptops are widely distributed in retail outlets whereas Dell has mostly sold factory direct to the consumer. This is now changing however and Dell computers are appearing in large retailers such as Walmart.

The big advantage of Dell factory direct sales is the fact that the buyer can custom build his machine from a wide range of optional features. Toshiba and Acer cannot offer this and the buyer is left with the standard features found in stock at the retail outlet. This is definitely one of the reasons for the popularity of Dell laptops.

Dell laptops selection starts with budget priced models which can be bought for under $500 and goes through middle range modestly priced machines to top of the line very fast big screen models which are sought after by gamers and other buyers who may need,or simply have decided to buy,the fastest and best big screen laptop available.

Acer has expanded their budget priced line into the higher end market of late and also supply laptop computers with fast Intel Duo Core processors and large screen sizes. Toshiba also has a good selection of mid to upper range models to suit the needs of any buyer.

How should you choose between Dell, Toshiba and Acer laptops? One of the best features of the Dell laptop is the custom built machine right from the factory and built to the buyer's specifications. A wide choice of components is available.

When you buy a Dell computer you select the components you want installed in your machine. The computer is completely built with the components you order and delivered to you with free shipping. The Acer and Toshiba computers cannot give you any choice of components. They have a fixed range of features and you can only buy what is in stock in the computer store.

Toshiba laptops have a well deserved reputation for quality. Toshiba prices tend to be higher on average so they do not appeal to the budget minded buyer. The one major benefit of the Acer laptop is a very good price.

So choose what you see as best for you. Buy a Dell and custom build it with the features you want. Pick your graphic card, RAM memory size, DVD/CD burning drive, hard drive size and so on. The list of features available from Dell is very large. You are buying a real custom machine built just the way you want it.

Buy an Ace or Toshiba laptop and you cannot select the features you want. In fact if you buy any other brand of laptop you do not have this choice available. You may have a lower price than the Dell if you buy an Acer however. If price is your most important determining factor then the Acer may be your choice. The Acer is an extremely popular machine with price oriented buyers.

So that is the story of these three good laptop manufacturers. Dell and Acer laptop computers are made in a price range to suit all buyers. The Toshiba is a great choice in middle to upper price range computers and has great quality.

Due to the great choice of custom features available a Dell laptop has become the desire of a great many buyers. If standard features are right for you then you can save a little by purchasing an Acer laptop and if you want quality and good features in a mid to upper price range then the Toshiba is a good choice.

If you are really after the very lowest price then you should consider a pre-owned laptop. A really good selection of Dell used laptops particularly is always available,if you know where to find them.
